Mentors
Our global network of more than one hundred mentors comprises graduates of the world’s top universities, including LUMS, Oxbridge, Stanford and the Ivy League. Many of them have also been recipients of prestigious scholarships including Fulbright, Chevening, Rhodes, Commonwealth and Erasmus Mundus. They offer in-depth guidance and advice on university and scholarship applications to Pakistani students who may not otherwise have access to it- on a pro bono basis, free of cost.

Amenah graduated from Dartmouth College with a major in Comparative Politics and Development Economics and a minor in Arabic. She began her career in investment banking at PJT Partners in San Francisco and then moved onto becoming the Strategy & Finance Lead at Abhi Finance, a leading Fintech in the MENA region. Building on this experience, she transitioned into real estate development at Rafts Properties, where she now leads multiple large-scale projects in Pakistan and founded Rspace, a coworking space.

Arham Aftab Kazi, Harvard University & University of Oxford
Arham is a PhD Candidate in Education at Harvard University. He works on issues in the philosophy of education and epistemology. His primary interests are in the epistemic status of children and the concept of indoctrination. Prior to his doctoral work, Arham worked as a teacher, tutor, and educator in a variety of settings in Pakistan, the US, and the UK. He also completed the BPhil (Masters) in Philosophy at the University of Oxford, and obtained his bachelors degree at Wesleyan University.

Waleed completed his undergraduate degree at Brown University on 100% financial aid. In addition to Brown, he was awarded the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship at Vanderbilt University and full scholarships at NYU's Abu Dhabi campus and Rice University in Texas. Eman is a graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. After completing her master’s, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she joined the think tank world to pursue a career in international security at the Stimson Center. She has also been awarded the Sy Syms Excellence in Journalism fellowship at Women’s eNews. Here, she reported on the gender health gap, revealing how the neglect of women's health research leaves conditions like menopause and PCOS underdiagnosed, untreated, and lacking specialized medicine, causing widespread suffering.

Azwar Shakeel, University of California Berkeley
Azwar is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley where he studied political science and economics. In July 2022, he was called to the Bar of England & Wales by Lincoln's Inn. Azwar achieved an overall distinction in Bar Vocational Studies, and was awarded the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators Prize for obtaining the highest aggregate marks in the International Commercial Trade and International Dispute Resolution specialisms. Currently, Azwar is a lawyer based in Lahore working at the law firm RIAA Barker Gillette, where his main areas of practice include corporate matters, regulatory compliance, labour disputes, legislative drafting, project development, and dispute resolution.
Azwar was the recipient of the inaugural Fakhruddin G Ebrahim Fellowship by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) where he researched the rights implications of human smuggling in Pakistan. Azwar’s report was published by HRCP last year. Since then, he has conducted many advocacy sessions, and press conferences on this issue. He also appears regularly on television news shows, such as Dawn’s Zara Hut Kay and In Focus, to give expert insights on various incidents of human smuggling and trafficking that occur. Currently he is working as a consultant for HRCP's Legislation Watch Cell to prepare a report on the draft Punjab Labour Code.

He holds a Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed) in International Educational Development from the University of Pennsylvania, USA, and a Liberal Studies degree from Ashoka University, India. His research and work focus on how AI is transforming learning, scaling entrepreneurial education, fostering intercultural dialogue, and supporting historically marginalized communities in achieving equitable access to opportunities.

Aisha Ahmad is Assistant Professor at the Shaikh Ahmad Hasan School of Law. After securing a gold medal for her undergraduate degree in law at LUMS, Aisha obtained an LL.M. at Harvard Law School, an MPhil in Development Studies at Oxford as a Clarendon Scholar and a DPhil in International Development at Oxford as Green Templeton College’s Sir David Watson Scholar. Her work relates to the political economy of law, urban governance and Marxist legal theory.

Maryam is pursuing a double major in Environmental Analysis and Economics at Pitzer College. She is a climate change activist passionate about climate justice, inclusion, and resilience. As a high school student, she founded a volunteer organization dedicated to building climate change resilience in vulnerable communities. Her work focuses on housing support, flood relief, healthcare access, and girls’ education. She also works as a researcher exploring adaptation measures in South Asia.

Noor Jehan Ahmad, Cornell University
Noor Jehan Ahmad is currently an undergraduate student at Cornell University. She was selected for the College Scholar program, a major in which students create their own interdisciplinary field of study through independent research. She is examining the effects of culinary colonialism and the preservation of food cultures in colonized communities as a form of indigenous resistance. One part of her thesis is the creation of a digital archive which is a collection of her conducted oral histories on food. Alongside, she is majoring in Literatures in English, with a concerted focus in multilingual poetry. Through all her work, she is passionate about finding the pivot of collectivism, by which, she believes, change can be most effectively made, and community can be most intimately found.

Hassan A. Niazi, New York University
Hassan A. Niazi has been practicing law since 2013, specializing in constitutional and regulatory disputes. He has served as a visiting faculty member at a number of law schools in Lahore, including the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), where he taught Jurisprudence. From 2020-2025 Hassan served as the Lead Regulatory Counsel for the South and Central Asia region for Meta Platforms Inc advising on issues related to freedom of expression and the regulation of social media. He is currently a Partner at Common Law Chambers, leading their Constitutional, Regulatory, and Technology disputes practice group.

Jugnoo Kazmi, Columbia University
Jugnoo is a dual-qualified lawyer (Pakistan and England), currently pursuing the Master of Laws degree at Columbia University. Prior to this, she was a special prosecutor at the National Accountability Bureau, where she won the award for best prosecutor. She has also been a state and defence counsel at the Islamabad High Court and has clerked for one of the former chief justices of Pakistan. Jugnoo’s career, which spans over 9 years, has involved work deeply focused on the rights of women, children and persons with disabilities. She has advocated for the rights of prisoners on death row and was appointed by the Pakistani Law Ministry on the committee overseeing implementation of the Anti-Rape Act. Jugnoo is frequently invited to speak on various TV channels to demystify judgments and legal decisions for the common public, talk about constitutional rights and possible recourse for citizens in the criminal justice system. She also won the Rising Star of the Year at the first ever awards held in the country for women lawyers.

Ayeda Hamed, Princeton University & University of Oxford
Ayeda Hamed is pursuing the MPhil in Development Studies at the Oxford Department of International Development. She is an Oxford Pakistan Programme scholar, and her studies are being generously jointly funded by the Hamid Ismail Foundation and the Malala Fund. Previously, Ayeda completed her undergraduate studies in Politics with a certificate in Russian Language and Literature at Princeton University, and graduated with cum laude honours in 2023.
Prior to coming to Oxford, Ayeda has worked at a number of research organisations such as the Beaconhouse National University’s Center for Policy Research (BCPR), the Institute of Development & Economic Alternatives (IDEAS) in Lahore, and the Center for the Study of Democracy in Sofia, Bulgaria. She also worked as a Research Assistant while studying at Princeton. Her ideas on democratic development in Pakistan have been published by The Friday Times, a major Pakistani newspaper, as well. Ayeda is also an experienced sitar player and has performed at the Alhamra Arts Council in Lahore.

Sheherazade Amin is a human rights lawyer who has completed her undergraduate studies from SOAS, University of London and her LL.M from University of California, Berkeley. She has previously worked with Justice Project Pakistan, Digital Rights Foundation and was a part of Meesha Shafi’s litigation team. She has also served as Research Fellow at the Centre of Excellence for International Law at ISSRA and is currently serving as the Legal Advisor and a UNICEF consultant at the National Commission on the Rights of Child.

For her Bachelor's, she studied International Relations at the University of Karachi. She began her career in the tech industry, focusing on corporate strategy, customer success, and marketing analytics at a global software company in Boston. Combining her diverse experience and entrepreneurial passions, she recently founded Ronak, Pakistan’s first bespoke, full-service wedding planning company.

Dr. Zahra Rana, UCL
Zahra holds a BSc and a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews, a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University College London and Chartered Chemist (CChem) accreditation from the Royal Society of Chemistry. She is currently a Senior Energy Advisor for the UK Government, working for the Secretary of State in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

Haider Aziz Sheikh is a third-generation lawyer specializing in Civil, Tax, and Corporate Law. He is currently an Associate at Imtiaz Siddiqui & Associates. Haider holds an LL.B from LUMS and an LL.M in Intellectual Property and Data Protection Law from the University of Glasgow. He has previously worked as a Legal Analyst in the NewLaw division of silver circle firm Ashurst LLP in the UK. His goal is to leverage AI and technology to develop efficient legal solutions in Pakistan.
